August 13 1961 - 46 years ago - the construction of the Berlin Wall started. It devided East and West Berlin the former and actual German capital. As such it is part of the 1378km "inner " border of the two German countries but also were a symbol for the iron curtain which devided the western and eastern hemisphere.
