RSS Feed Reader |
Have you recognized the RSS feeds provided by the My Nero site? RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and allows to grab content from e.g. My Nero. Hence RSS feeds are delivered in XML format, there are plenty of so called RSS readers to show those feeds. This makes it quite simple to keep yourself posted.
Outlook 2007 supports RSS feeds, as well. Using Outlook as RSS reader has the benefit, that it shows you the news from RSS feeds within the list of emails. This way you wouldn't miss new blog entries any more. (German readers may follow the guide on Planet Outlook )
Of course, Kontact is capable to show RSS feeds, as well and I'm sure there is a Gnome groupware application that does the trick too.
In case you prefer to use your browser to read RSS feeds - not a drama, both Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox come with build-in RSS readers. (Again, I'm sure, other browser can do it too.)
Now, as you know how to read RSS feeds in your favorite email client, all that 's missing are the URLs of My Nero RSS feeds. Unfortunately there are as many feeds as My Nero users - actually, I'm too lazy to list them all. The URL to my - my nickname is truss - blog's RSS feed is: http://rss.my.nero.com/user/truss . To read someone else's blog via RSS, just replace "truss " with a different My Nero nickname.
Besides there are some more global RSS feeds:
- Latest blog entries http://rss.my.nero.com
- Best rated blog entries http://rss.my.nero.com/best
- Latest users at My Nero http://rss.my.nero.com/latestUser

Great info on how to best use the site, Truss. Thanks so much!
