How to Get Your VINYL to CD |
I am trying to record all my vinyl to CD, But I cannot hear what I am trying to record but my Laptop/Nero does.I am using a Stand alone Turntable which plugs into an ADS Tech (Instant music) Box Via Red & White Stereo Audio leads, which then plugs into my Laptop Via a USB Connection. My Laptop is running Windows Vista (Basic). Many Thanks Steve ( Gonk59)

Steve, for starters, when using a turntable, you must have a pre-amp.
I am hoping your little white box from ADS has that. If its meant for turntable alone, it must have it. If its meant for tapes and turntable it would need a switch to enable/disable the preamp. God its good to be old! I actually assume everyone knows about turntables and pre-amps (heehee).
Ok so lets assume, you box does not have a preamp. If you have any stereo receiver, it should have a turntable input.. right? They still have those dont they? :-) Ok so anyway... I did this exact process a few years ago and its not at all hard. You need a turntable, preamp to bring the levels up to that of a line level tape player or cd player. then you can plug it into your sound card's INPUT and use any software like NERO's WAVE EDITOR.
if you dont hear anything, right click on the little speaker near your clock and pick "volume controls " . Now make sure all the levels are up!
You can still try your little white ADS box, but you also might need to take the issue to ADS, since its not a NERO product.
Good Luck my Friend,
MrChuck
