Mastering the CUT tool in NERO8-VISION5

 

The CUT tool in NERO 8 can be used many ways and its pretty easy once you know how.

 

Open your SMART_START and jump to VISION 5

Click the Scissors icon to activate the cut tool. Now you can slide the 2 cutters to pick the spot to remove from our video.

Tip: If you want to cut off the end or the start by a few minutes leave one cutter in place and move the other to the point you want to end your removal.   Now click the scissor icon again in the toolbar to confirm your choice.

 

This message will pop up and warn you that you are about to REMOVE the footage between the cutters.

That's all there is to removing a clip from your video with new Vision 5.

 

But wait... What if I just wanted to clip the video in half and work with the 2 halves?

You can do this with Nero8/Vision5

 

Move the left cutter to the point you wish to cut the video in 2, now move the right cutter up against  it.

Now click the scissors icon in the tool bar to confirm.

 

Nero8/vision5 will cut the video in 2 and drop both chunks into your story board below!

Notice how I have 2 segments and I can click on each one while the trim markers move to show I have full sized video clips in 2 halves. I did not really "remove " anything.

TIP: Always click the CUT icon before you move your trim markers. Moving them before hand will cause a loss of more video than you might have planned.
