RSS-FEED with MY NERO |
If you missed the intro to RSS >>GO HERE (Other wise please read on.)
Now that you're all vets of the RSS, lets talk about how this works in MyNero.
With My Nero, you can monitor the LATEST blogs, the GREATEST blogs, the FEATURED blogs, or even one or more members blog pages! My Nero has setup RSS all over My Nero. So lets walk through how to set up RSS for a MyNero FEED.
The 1st thing you want to consider is installing IE7, which has built in management of RRS and makes it even easier than IE6.
OK so lets subscribe to a My Nero RSS so we can see how simple it is.
Go to MyNero and look for the RSS logo. In IE7, there is an RSS alert icon that lets you know an RSS feed is on this page.
The Subscription link pops up, Click it.
The RSS feed name name box is displayed. From here you can rename the subscription and put it in a folder if you like. In any case, click the SUBSCRIBE Button.
Click the View RSS feeds link if you wish to edit or view your feeds
In IE7, The Feeds Manager looks like this.
You're done!! This is how your MYNERO-FEED appears in an RSS Feed Viewer using Windows Vista's FEED GADGET.
That's it! So go out there and try RSS feeds. You will love how convenient it is.
Use your new RSS skills to keep up with Nero News by adding the following RSS feed: http://www.nero.com/enu/nero-news.xml
Awesome
Great post, MrChuck! My life would not be the same without RSS feeds. Everyone needs to rate blogs like this with 5 flames!
Just Like Emails
In case you use Outlook 2007 there is build in support for RSS feeds. Of course, there is a HowTo from Microsoft. Unfortunately, older versions don't know anything about RSS. Still, there is a bunch of plugins for Outlook 2003 that provide the same feature. RSS Popper for example looks pretty good - and of course it is free. Pop by the RSS Popper homepage or directly download the plugin.
