NERO VISION WISH LIST

posted by mrchuck999 at 2 years ago

Updated 6-4-2007

This blog is for creative suggestions for NERO to add useful features to Vision.

All practical suggestions will be shared with the public and Nero.

***************

AUDIO TAB

Below is a description of audio features VISION users have expressed interest in for a future Audio-effect TAB.
Anyone wishing to add a feature to the list, please post it in this blog, and the master list will be updated.

Each effect can be controlled in 2 ways. #1. effect-variable, #2. Length.

The effect is placed in the timeline with drag-drop.
The length of the effect is controlled by stretching the bar and dragging earlier or later in the timeline.
The effect is controlled by double-click the time-line-bar. A popup will offer the controls that match the effect.

Examples:
Fade: [# of seconds]
Sharp:   [ slider for intensity] (Tweak of the high freq. range for muffled audio)
WIND-REMOVER: [ slider for intensity]   (Low band cut that will reduce the impact of wind hitting a mic.)
DIALOG ENHANCE: [ slider for intensity] (This is intended to accentuate spoken dialog.)
MIX: [slider shows volume of input added to the mix]
METER: A green/yellow/red volume meter that indicates effective volume levels. Red indicate possible clipping or distortion.
This meter needs to be active, no matter which audio is played. While mixing, this meter would show the out of the mixed audio.

FULL Audio Filter list

  • RECORD LEVEL METERS
  • FADE IN
  • FADE OUT
  • SHARP FILTER
  • WIND-REMOVER
  • DIALOG ENHANCE
  • MIC MIX
  • CD MIX
  • AUDIO FILE MIX
  • MASTER AUDIO LEVEL (ALL TRACKS MIXED)
  • CLIP AUDIO LEVEL

 *****************

AUDIO NORMALIZE

  • Audio normalize (levels each clips audio to the same level) (Add checkbox to the Burn screen)

This feature level sthe audio avoid sudden loud passages and spots that are too quiet.

 *************************************************

Add "BURN TO HARD DRIVE " in the BURN Screen.

This feature can be executed while burning to disc.

This works well in other leading software and is a nice way to get the most out of processing once, save to DVD & HDD.

  1. Add a Check box to the Burn Screen
  2. Under the check box would be a path & a browse button for pointing to a save point.

 ******************************************

A Nero user suggested Nero needs to add the gamma feature back but it is here.

So we do have GAMMA already.

This is a MOCK-UP of an AUDIO tab and good place for it.

This really needs to be added with many features suchas...

Audio replace

Audio Mix

Audio normalize (levels each clips audio to the same level)

If anyone has suggestions for NERO VISION, please feel free to post them.

Not to transcode

I may be missing something... but even in Nero Vision 5, all files are transcoded wether you like it or not.  So if I create a DVD out of 30 AVIs, NV transcodes them (ok!).  Now create a new project, add the same VOBs and maybe 1 or 2 additional VOBs you have handy.

Even though there may be MORE than enough room to fit everything, NV5 transcodes the whole thing all over again.

So if it takes me 3 days to transcode 75 divx AVIs, it'll take another 3 days to transcode the VOBs from it's output if I want to do nothing more than change the menu around.

Am I missing something?  Maybe there's a secret way to specify what gets transcoded and what doesn't?  If so, I'd love to know how.  If not, then there's a suggestion for a patch to NV5.

One title option when there is more than one chapter

After a movie is made in Vision, I add chapters ( sometimes use the auto feature.)   I continue on to the menu screen.  Vision does not have the option to have one title when more than one chapter is  created. If chapters are not created in the movie, then it only shows one title/chapter on the menu.  It only  has two and above as an option. When I try to use the two  title option and delete the second.  The delete option is not availble.  So, because I dont want all the chapters showing on my menu, I eliminate the chapters from my movie... this makes it hard to fast forward etc. in the DVD player.

Thanks

Burn to disc and HDD

Binkie, Ah yes, I agree. This can be done with one popular product by company U****.

It works well and is a nice way to get the most out of processing once, save to DVD & HDD.

I 2nd the motion. NERO: Consider adding a check box on the last screen called SAVE TO DISC.

Under the check box would be a path & a browse button for pointing to a save point.

Vision - Fade Music in and out
I would like to be able to Fade a song in and out in vision.  One is able to shrink the song to fit the pictures/videos but not a smooth transition from one song to the next.

Hard drive option

My 'wish' probably wasn't that clear :)

I'd like the option to save to the hard drive but still burn to disc at the same time.  Instead with Recode or Vision you have the choice to pick the destination as either a hard disk folder or a burner.

Other programs I use have a box you can uncheck - saying something like delete files when done.  Leaving it unchecked let's me save it to the hard drive and still burn at the same time.
