did you burn that to a DVD+R (in contrast to a DVD-R)? And did you set the "Booktype" to DVD-ROM? Some DVD Players out there don't play DVD-Rs. Some even don't play DVD+R without the Booktype set to "DVD-ROM".

Are you able to play the disc on your PC using Nero Showtime? Have you already tried to burn the project onto a DVD from another manufacturer?
I suggest you not to use a rewritable disc and to burn as slow as possible.
