backup
Would it be better to backup to another HD? for time and backup quality?
Hello
This Error, States that a directory was removed and could not be found, if you have any cleaning programs or even emptied the trash during the backup an error could occur,
Even windows could have removed a file.
Make sure when you do a backup.
1.) turn off screen saver.
2.)Turn off power managment.
3.) don't use system at all. Just set it to do a backup and take a break, Watch a show on TV or a Movie, or do it while you sleep.
4.)Make sure any background tasks are off, Anti virus ect. (you don't want these to run, it takes up resources and sometimes removes files, also can cause bad burns due to high resources being used to scan the system.
5.Burn at 4X only, Better slower burns with drives, and depending on your system, if your memory is low, you will be safer to use a slower setting.
P/S.. this is not a bug, this is machine specific Problem, make sure you have a new boot up before running and have all the newest updates from Microsoft, Video Card and
Bios Firmware updates to your Burner and your PC, You will find them in the Compaq aera of your Model PC, Update your Firmware.
i will guarantee you, if you used your PC or had a background task Running, this had caused your Problem. this is not common but it does happen, Also brand of DVD makes a big diffrence when you are burning a live backup.

Hello
Yes, it sure Would, You can backup to another Hard Drive if you would like and after the backup Transfer it to a DVD to store, then you can always restore from the DVD.
I allway's Keep a Copy on a Hard Drive and ON DVD to be certian it is there if I Need it, and you have the Added Assurance of A Hard Copy DVD Backup if you Need.
Hope This helps, And Good Luck
