Tea Ceremony

posted by fischi at 3 years ago

Hello,

today we had a small tea ceremony in our shared flat. It was a quite interesting experience . With some time and small talk we tasted 4 different kinds of oolong teas. We also learned a lot about tea qualities, leaves, tea regions, fermentation etc. I was never a big fan of tea drinking but i definitely enjoyed this evening.

Assam and Earl Gray

are my absolute favorite black teas. Vanilla black was my #1 for quiet some time, but I got fed up somehow.

Now very strong Assam teas (ie Twinings' Assam directly from the UK) are my daily source of coffein.

Black Vanilla Beats Mate

Vanilla flavored black tea is what I prefer . Actually I don't think about plain black tea, which tastes fine as well, you know?

It definitely beats Mate tea. Mate tea is for sissies - well that's how I use to teas my girlfriend. She loves those pricey, healthy guarana mate teas you can buy in alternative grocery stores. Girls :-)

Anyway, I go for another coffee :-)

Ever tried Mate?

I lived in Uruguay for 2 years and the drink of choice was Mate.  It's basically an herbal tea that they drink down there.  If you put enough sugar in it - it tastes pretty good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yerba_mate
