the Nero Website

Why is the nero website down. I have tried many times over the last week and it never responds. Is Nero out of business?

The website is there, went through a proxy server,   so why can't the Nero people get off their asses and fix it?

Most sites will not work with a Proxy ,and a Direct Connection is Needed, It looks still as the error result's in a Block on the Service providers end.

Being aware of how the Nero site function's, proxy problems are a problem, Due to The authentication protocol of the Servers.

Still proxy work around are required from some service providers, and that information that is needed for authentication is sent in different packet routes. Since there are so many and Europe, just this past week, a main trunk Underground was cut and damaged, slowing the Net down by 70%, the Problem I believe is the Workaround they put into effect until they get it fixed. (The Problem is on the News site's and I believe this is the Problem)

it's on the end of there service provider and Not here at Nero.

This within iyself explain's why the Proxy is woking and not the Direct, at least for now.

Ken,

You have it backwards...

The site works with a proxy, but not direct.

The fault appears to be a router in Europe (see the tracert link in my earlier post).

All site information was Checked and Running fine, if running a proxy or other third party routing service this will be the problem. Please contact your Service providers.

All services are up and running, so if the Service providers did an update or routing information has been changed, the Error will show up as a Nero Host Error.

Notice: Drop Your Proxy and do a direct link and try not to reroute, The Nero page needs to confirm information or you will get a dead link.

This is not a Nero Issue.

Welcome to The New Web, Allot Of Site's Will Not Allow for A Proxy Work Around.

Looks like a router problem.

It appears to be a router that is broken/misconfigured someplace between me and the www.nero.com server.

If you look at this web based tracert site...

http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=trace&host=www.nero.com

you can see where it breaks. Other web based tracert sites work, and I can get to the site using some web proxies so it's clear that the site is up, I just can't get there from here. Same for chuck2007 and I assume some other people as well. The last working hop is in Europe so it's closer to Nero's host then to me (Canada).

It's been broken for at least a week, but was working about two weeks ago when I was looking at info for the Blu-ray plug-in.

I don't think it's anything nero can fix, unless they can get their web host to track down the problem.

Hello

Site is, and has been working fine,

It can be on your end and also your service provider that is having problems.
