Nero 8 online update

posted by chuck2007 at 1 year ago

Just finished an online update of Nero 8. My question is this: What happens to the huge file that is downloaded for the update? I want to save this file for future use if necessary.

Online Updates............

are temporary files. If you are lucky XP will delete them, If you are very lucky the author of the update will cause all support files to be deleted as well. It is often the case through poor programming that some or all of these files simply clutter up your system with an inevitable degredation in performance.....

Therefore - - - NEVER do an online update if you can avoid it.

You should aquire a cleaning program....there are loads to choose from. I personally use ASHAMPOO, I'm not saying they are the best.....its just a case of old habits. It certainly keeps my systems quite perky.

Most of these cleanup programs leave behind .TMP, .OLD and .BAK files....therefore I wrote a program in use by thousands (quite literally) called Delete Dross....it will search your system quite quickly and delete the mentioned files and any you choose to add to the list....its free and available from my web site
