I have found that it's important with each new Nero release to make sure you are running the latest video and sound drivers for your respective video and sound cards. As software improves hardware has to follow to continually meet the demand of greater capability and on the fly performance.
Here are some simple steps before you upgrade your Nero version:
Clean your registry
Clean your temp files
Run a spyware and virus check with the latest updates
Reboot
Check for video driver updates and other applicable video card updates
Install
Reboot
Follow the same instructions for your sound card as well
Reboot
Perform upgrade
In the end you will have a better running machine and a cleaner installation
