So, Sony, in partnership with another Japanese company, has developed software to be integrated into their new Cybershot cameras.   Apparently this software can detect when you smile, and will only take the picture when you're smiling.   It can track up to 8 separate people in the frame at once, and will only take the shot when all of them are detected to be smiling at the desired intensity (yes, it can detect degrees of happiness, apparently).   This is either really cool, or really useless, but have a look:
