New Energy Sources

posted by NeroDude at 2 years ago

So yeah, we at Nero know plenty about burning.   But some Swiss scientists are doing their best to teach the world a few things about it with their recent, earthquake-inducing experiment to go below the crust of the Earth and tap into the vast heat energy below the surface.   Geothermal, they call it.   Anyway, check out the full article here .   There's even a video.

Anyway, the NeroDude is interested to hear what you guys think about the whole issue of sustainable energy and renewable energy sources, etc.   I don't know if drilling holes in the planet is necessarily the best idea, but I wonder what great stuff technology is developing as we speak.

Let's start a discussion!

Sahara
Isn`t that the desert were they have sand storm`s that block out the sun then again they could solve real estate problem by all living in sand castles Later Tony.T

rainy season
in the hot season they generate enough power and revenue to see them through as for real estate that comes with progress my glass is half full so should theirs be

Solar
My understanding is that Solar energy only works when it's sunny.  Isn't there like a rainy season in Africa?  Also, how much real-estate would we need to take up?  Maybe we can make use of something like the Sahara to do this in?  That seems like a perfect place.

renewable energy
Just go to Africa with it`s constant heat build factories with solar energy panels train up the local`s this will give them a future as well as saving energy no more poverty  cheaper product price`s and less death from starvation ..but i suppose all the job`s worth`s will say it`s not cost effective ..Wrong in the long run not at first but in 30yrs time look at the figure`s and tell me you need to speculate to accumulate but the big money companies talk a good talk but don`t walk the walk Later Tony.T
