Many of you have probably noticed the new icon in the My Nero blog controls.   If not, look for the scroll with the green "plus " sign over it when you open the "add a Blog entry " window.   This new icon is the easy way to add embedded content from the web to your My Nero blog entries.   It's easy, and it will add a new level of expressiveness to your blogs.   Here's all you have to do:

1.   Go to the video sharing website that contains the video you want to share (e.g., YouTube, MySpace, etc.)

2.   Find the "Embed " link (or equivalent) and copy the text from that link (NOT the site url) into your clipboard.  

3.   Come back to My  Nero and begin writing your blog entry.   When you're ready to insert the video, click the Embed icon in the blogging controls at the top of the blog window.

4.   In the dialog box that appears, paste the text from the Embed link into the empty space, then click okay.  

5.   You should see a large placeholder appear in your blog.   Don't worry, when you actually click "publish " (after My Nero automatically formats your content) that placeholder will become the video content you had originally embedded.  

For example, let's say I wanted to add a fun music video that uses modified footage from World of Warcraft . If I got it from YouTube, it might look something like this:

Easy, right?   However, there are a couple of rules that we ask you follow:

1.   No objectionable content please (you already know what I mean, so I won't get specific).   Such content will be removed and could lead to a loss of your My Nero privileges.  

2.   No embedded text with <script > tags in it is allowed.   This won't affect most of you, so don't freak.

3.   Right now, we're only supporting videos and pictures, so slideshows from Flickr and stuff like that are currently unsupported.   Don't worry, we're working on it.   Also, we only support Flash content at this point.

4.   Only videos from sites that are on our approved list are allowed.   If you have a video that meets all the other requirements, and it's not working, that's probably because it's not on our allowed list.   To get a site added to our allowed list, simply contact My Nero support.

That's it!   Oh, by the way, you can also embed pure audio content, if you want, so don't feel like it's got to be video.
