Help with Nero Vision 4 |

Help:
I installed Nero 7 Essentials when I bought a new hard drive. I have used previous versions of Nero.I burn AVI files to DVD with Nero Vision 4.9.7.6. I saw the prompt that the "MPEG-4 decoder " was good for a 30 day trial. Of course, after the trial I was no longer able to burn the AVI's.
So, I clicked the "Buy Now " button and was directed to the Nero download page.OF COURSE (AGAIN), there is no specific direct to the particular item needed to purchase - there's everything that Nero has to offer. I figured that I needed the DVD-Video Multichannel plug-in and purchased it for $27.99. I received the e-mail confirmation with the serial number and entered it correctly according to the e-mail directions. Did I need to download anything or just enter the S/N?
HOWEVER, after I entered it and rebooted, I still get the prompt to "buy now " and I'm unable to burn a DVD. I'm really getting frustrated.
Now, can anyone tell me1) Is this the correct plug-in that's needed;2) If not, what do I need;3) Where do I get it?
Any help would be appreciated.

How should I proceed? Should I install Nero 7 first? Then run the Nero 7 clean tool or vice versa before I install 8?
I sent an e-mail to sales about the buying Nero 8 and to take off the plug-in purchase and credit my Visa which they said they'd do. I still haven't heard back from them yet to confirm that. I'll let you know.
You've been really helpful. But , let me know how I should proceed with the uninstall/install issue.

Hi , I am sorry to here that . I personaly think that is just shamefull of nero , the plugin you purchased plainly states that it is to enable dvd decoding and encoding in nero 7 essentials.
I too have had a technical support request answered by nero sales rather than nero support , it reflects very poorly on nero ag.
do be sure to use the nero 7 clean tool prior to your nero 8 instalation . , I hope that nero 8 runs great for you and that it proves to be a good value...

You guys have helped. Customer support didn't. They told me that it wasn't the correct plug-in and I had to buy Nero 8 (of course, they're salesmen). And, I did.
But it still doesn't explain why the plug-in didn't work. Because, I updated Nero 7 from their web site right after I installed it from my CD to make sure I had the most recent version. My licenses say that I'm running Nero Essentials Express version 7.10.1.2.
I did all this and things ran smooth until the 30 days were up. And, then I purchased the plug-in and entered the serial number. Things should have run - right?
Oh, well...I guess I'll use my DVD Flick software until the package arrives.

Hi Dennis
As Artman2112 posted, You will need the Update, please also check on the site that you had gotten your nero 7 Essentials and or (CD Burner). (if it came with a drive purchase)
Nero Essentials 7 is normally given away with a drive purchase; the Drive manufacture that bundled the software with the drive will normally have updates for the Essentials program.
Please Download the Newest software release from the manufacture, if you were given a Nero Essentials Serial number please have it handy. All software that is bundled with a certain drive must see that drive or it will not work or install to be used with a different drive.
When you do the update, Use the clean tools after, Reboot then use the Clean tools again, Reboot 1 more time.
Then install Nero Essentials and then put in your Serial Key you had purchased, You will need to Reboot, And you should be Fine.

Hi , i just poked in to the plug ins page , you have purchased the right one , and should be able to make dvd video .
on the dvd-video multichannel plug in page it states that nero 7.2 or higher is required , purhapd you need to update your nero version .
the last update is 7.10.2 , and is the best of the lot anyhow ....
would sugest that you update manualy , and be sure to visit the support / tools down loads to aquire the nero 7 clean tool , and use it for the uninstal ,
all these downloads can be accessed through my nero , via my home / download software...
